ALL ABOUT ME
Personal Profile
Kia ora, talofa, malo e lelei, kia orana, bula, halo, and many warm pacific greetings!
My name is Supina, otherwise known as Pina. I am 14 years of age and come from the beautiful island of Papua New Guinea. I am Central mix Buka, and proud! I currently reside in NZ and am exposed to the many islands of the pacific and it's amazing people.
Growing up as a Pacific Islander in New Zealand is a privilege. I am able to achieve so many things, like creating my own website and applying for scholarships to big universities through the Pacific avenue. But with any great power/privilege, comes responsibility. For me, I feel obliged to share the stories of my ancestors to today's generation. I feel responsible to share any advice and contemporary stories to my young pacific brothers and sisters. My roots run deep in my blood, and I am so proud to be able to call myself a Pacific Islander. My main goal is to educate as many as possible on different issues such as the near extinction of tattooing, as well as connecting my pacific brothers and sisters through our similarities. I find joy in creating these magazine issues and fulfilment in publishing them. Please have a read and email me any stories or advice topics you would like me to cover in my next issue!
